Tour the region of Alto Maipo, right on our doorstep, in the closest wine region to Santiago. The region stretches into the foothills of the Andes, with amazing views across the beautiful valley and a micro-climate perfect for well-balanced reds. There are some great wineries, with some wonderful wines, just waiting for you to discover them.
First stop is an historical vineyard dating back to 1880 where you’ll visit the varietal gardens and production area. See the antique “cal y canto” cellars, now a national monument, before a tasting of 3 reserve wines.
We will then visit an impressively designed winery with sweeping views over the valley from the terrace. Explore the wine making facilities, designed to make the most of gravity in the production process. End the tour in the breathtaking cellar for a tasting of three of their premium wines.
Our next stop is a Chilean-style BBQ grill lunch. You will enjoy a three course lunch, accompanied by delicious sides and salads, and a glass of local wine.
We’ll then make our way back to Santiago at the end of a fun-filled and informative day in Alto Maipo.
Or, add a third winery …
After lunch, we have the option to stop at a small boutique winery store for a casual tasting of three wines. You can take a walk among the vines, and hear how a French/Chilean partnership created this winery.
