Guided winter wine tour to Chile’s beautiful vineyards with great wines to taste.
With shorter winter days upon us, Chile Wine Trails has designed some special tours so you can enjoy Chile’s wine country and be back in town before dark.
Enjoy this guided tour of Alto Maipo, right on our doorstep, in the closest wine region to Santiago. The region stretches into the foothills of the Andes, with amazing views across the beautiful valley and a micro-climate perfect for well-balanced reds. There are some great wineries, with some wonderful wines, just waiting for you to discover them.
First winery …
First stop is an historical vineyard dating back to 1880 where you’ll take a guided visit of the varietal gardens and production area. Then see the antique “cal y canto” cellars, now a national monument, before a tasting of 3 reserve wines.
Second winery …
We will then visit an impressively designed winery with sweeping views over the valley from the terrace. Explore the wine making facilities, designed to make the most of gravity in the production process. End the tour in the breathtaking cellar for a tasting of three of their premium wines.
Our next stop is a typical Chilean-style BBQ grill lunch in a relaxing setting. You will enjoy a welcome drink, a three-course lunch accompanied by delicious sides and salads, and a glass of local wine.
We’ll then make our way back to Santiago at the end of a fun-filled and informative day in Alto Maipo.
