Wine tour in the Casablanca region, known for its cool climate wines due to its proximity to the Pacific Coast. You will be picked up from your Santiago hotel and transported through the Curacavi Valley and Coastal Mountain range to your first winery.
First up is a visit to one of the first wineries to plant vines in Casablanca, Chile’s youngest wine region. You will walk through the vines and the wine making facilities, and hear about their organic and bio-dynamic practices. Then return to the tasting rooms to taste four of their premium wines, each emblematic of its region and showcasing the best of their terroir. Each wine is paired with its own specially-selected small bite.
Next stop is a family-run winery with generations of wine making experience, recognised as the innovators of the region. You’ll see some unique wine making techniques and other interesting projects, such as their liqueurs and wine “balsam”. Browse their old-fashioned “emporio” filled with local gourmet products, then enjoy a delicious three-course lunch prepared by a local chef and especially matched to their unique wines.
If you’re looking for a shorter day, we’ll transport you back to Santiago after your delicious lunch.
Alternatively, add a third winery …
After lunch, you can visit the first winery daring enough to focus on red wine in a “white wine region”. You will enjoy the natural setting of this remarkable vineyard on an ex-dairy farm. Retire to the comfortable tasting rooms to enjoy four wines accompanied by locally produced cheese.
We will then transport you back to Santiago at the end of an enjoyable and indulgent day.
Price is for a full day out with your English speaking guide, transport to and from your Santiago base and all tours, lunch, tips and taxes.
